Makeup Monday – Clinique Moisture Surge Review

The Touch Of Tay Blog

Witten while being buried alive in snow.

Hello and Welcome to Touch of Tay! Today is Monday which means it’s time for Makeup Monday. Unfortunately, I don’t have any new makeup products to share with you, sad face.

I am leaving for a trip to Texas on Thursday, so all my extra cash is being squired away in my traveling fund. What I do have for you is a review on the Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator that I picked up two weeks ago. I had mentioned this product in a previous Makeup Monday post before I had the chance to test it out. But now I have, and this is my story.

I HATE IT. The end.

Just kidding, here is my real review.

Backstory: I got this product to replace my bareMinerals Butter Drench Restorative Rich Cream in my night time skin care routine. The Butter Drench is an intense moisturizer for very dry skin.

Clinique Moisture Surge

The price isn’t bad for the amount of product you get (50ml/1.6oz). I paid $39 directly from the Clinique website. I got 10% off for being a first time buying which is why I didn’t order from Sephora or Ulta.

I love the packaging; it is small compared to other tub moisturizers I have used which is perfect for travel and storage.

I really, really, really, don’t like how this product feels on the skin. It dries completely down which is strange for a high intense lotion; I can see it’s advantages, but it made my face feel tight and itchy on the eyelids.

I have very sensitive eye areas and was hoping this product would provide me relief from the itchiness, but it didn’t.

This moisturizer is probably amazing for under makeup since it does dry completely. This product would probably be beneficial for people with oily skin since you are still getting lots of hydration without the residue.

I am going to give this product to a friend (probably my mom) since it is just too unconformable for me to wear. I like a heavy lotion for my night time routine, and this just isn’t it.

Thank you so much for spending some time with me on this Monday. If you are in the Northern states, hang in there, spring has to be right around the corner.

Like I said, I am traveling this week which means I won’t have a Fresh Finds Friday post up for you this week, forget me. But I will be back for next week’s Fresh Finds Friday!
