Posted while sick in bed.
Happy very Monday to all of you; the struggle has never been so real than it is today. By the time you read this, I will probably be enjoying a glass of red but in the meantime let’s talk about makeup.
Today we are talking about two lip colors that are new to my life.
The new bareMinerals Gen Nude line is something I have talked about on this blog before. A few weeks back I picked up the Gen Nude Over Under Lipliner. I have been wearing the color Borderline almost every single day!
I saw someone review the Matte Liquide Lipcolor and had to give them a try. I didn’t hear wonderful things about them, but this reviewer changed my mind. I went to Sephora and got the color XYZ which is a muted pink color. Perfect for the transition from summer into fall.
The formula is more satin than most liquid lips; it’s good because your lips don’t get extremely dry (just a little dry) and helps with application. The product is very pigmented, and the actual applicator is a flat doe foot which is nice.
There matte lipcolors smell like vanilla cupcakes wich I don’t love. I don’t really like putting overly perfumed products on my face, it’s just not necessary.
Overall I think this product is great for short term wear since the longer it stays on the more it accentuates the lines on your lips and starts to flake off.
SMITH & CULT
I got the Smith & Cult Lip Lacquer in the shade The Warning in this months Popsurgar subscription box. Was super excited to give it a try since Bunny from Grav3YardGirl also got this lip product in one of her subscription boxes and reviewed it on her channel. The color is beautiful and so is the packaging, I love it. I am not a huge fan of glosses probably since I used to drowned my lips in cheap lip gloss in middle school that now I can’t even put it on my lips anymore.
But I gave this gloss a try and it’s not terrible. It’s as glossy and gloss comes but for some reason it doesn’t bother me as much as other. I don’t forsee myself grabbing this product on a daily or weekly basis but I do think it might come in handy for an event or something similar.
I hope you enjoy what is left of your Monday and I’ll see you back here mid-week. Stay fancy.
