Let’s Talk About Hair Baby!

The Touch Of Tay Blog

Blogged while anxiously awaiting the season premier of Orange Is The New Black tomorrow.

Hello and thanks for stopping by Touch of Tay! If you are new, welcome! If you are not new, welcome back. Those were my manners.

In today’s blog, we are talking about hair! If you are anything like me, you spend all your time and money on makeup and sometimes forget that there is hair growing out of your head that needs your attention.

I am 24 years old, and I still have no idea how to do my hair. My hair, naturally, isn’t straight but isn’t curly. It’s not black, but it’s not brown. It’s not short, and it’s not long. I like to say my hair is undecided. So to make it look like I have control over my life I use the following products.

ShampooLoreal Paris Hair Expertise EverPure Volume Shampoo ($5.99) for color treated hair because I color/bleach my hair on occasion, and I desperately need volume. I HATE flat hair; it drives me up a wall!

ConditionerMoroccanoil Smoothing Conditioner. This stuff is AMAZING!!!!! I don’t even have the words to explain to you how out of this world this conditioner is. It’s $29 and worth ever single penny.

Pre-BlowdryLiving Proof Full Thickening Cream ($27) and Living Proof Blowout Style & Finishing Spray ($24).

Post-Blowdry Moroccanoil Treatment ($44)

Pre-CurlChi 44 Iron Gaurd Spray ($14.59 @ Target). I have been using this stuff for ages, and I absolutely love it! Kenra Professional Platinum Dry Texture Spray 6 ($22).

Post-Curl – Moroccanoil Treatment, again, and Garnier Fructis Flexible Control Anti-Humidity Hairspray in Strong #2 ($3.30). I have been using this hairspray since college, and I will never use anything else. It provides hold without getting crunchy or leaving residue on my hair.

Blow DryerHot Tools Tourmaline Turbo Ionic Dryer ($69.99). I upgraded to this dryer after using a Revlon dryer for many years. I was the kind of person who didn’t think high-end dryers were worth the money and that all dryers did the same thing. BOY WAS I WRONG! Having a good blow dryer really does make a difference in dry time, frizziness, and sleekness.

Curling Wand – I prefer to use a wand as opposed to a clamp curling iron. I got my Zoe Professional wand at T.J. Maxx, and it came with three interchangeable barrels. I’m not sure how much I paid for this exactly but I want to say it was around $14.99.

Straightener – I rarely ever straighten my hair since I hate the way straight hair looks on me but when I do I use my Remington S9500 Pearl Hair straightener that I have had for a very long time. Again, I’m not sure how much I paid for this but I can’t imagine spending that much.

After Wash & Towel DryOribe Apres Beach Wave and Shine Spray ($39). I only use about four sprays around the ends of my hair or else I will end up with curled baby hairs. I let my hair air dry and watch it grow twice it’s normal size. I usually wear my hair up or pulled back in the summer, so this doesn’t bother me one bit.

If you use any of these products or know of any others that might make my life a little easier, let me know! Don’t forget to tune in this Friday for another Fresh Finds Friday!
